10 upcoming DC Comics series you can’t miss


2022 brought with it some great new series from DC Comics. The human target by Tom King and Greg Smallwood, Black Knights of Steel by Tom Taylor, and Batman/Superman: the best in the world by Mark Waid, have all been fantastic reads, and fans can’t wait to see more in 2023. However, 2022 isn’t quite over yet, and there are a few series fans who should check it out before the end of the year.

DC has announced its next solicitations through December. While many series are ending before the end of the year, they have announced several new series planned for the coming months. Among this latest batch are fans of must-watch critical series.

ten Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo (November 2022)

This new series from Marc Silvestri will feature Batman and the Joker plunged into a crazy situation. When Harley Quinn and Commissioner Gordon are kidnapped, Batman and The Joker will do whatever they can to get them back. The Joker comes to Batman, looking to team up, and Batman apparently has no choice but to accept.

Batman/The Joker: The Deadly Duo should be released on November 1st. It will be published by DC’s Black Label and will have 7 issues. In addition to writing, Marc Silvestri will also provide the art for the series. It’s a team that fans can’t afford to miss.

9 Justice Society of America (November 2022)

The Justice Society of America was DC’s first superhero team, first appearing in 1940. It’s been several years since they’ve had their own series, but writer Geoff Johns and the artist Mikel Janín are bringing them back with a new series, starting in November.

The Justice Society must unite to stop an enemy who can manipulate time. Rip Hunter and the Time Masters will also make an appearance, helping the JSA stop the threat. Released on November 22, fans should keep an eye out for this new monthly series.

8 Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City (October 2022)

Gotham Knights is one of the most anticipated games of the year. To pique fan interest, DC is releasing a prequel series in October, titled, Batman: Gotham Knights – Golden City. In this series, Batman and his allies investigate a virus that is rampant in the city. However, as the mystery unfolds, it begins to resemble a case from the 1800s investigated by Gotham’s first vigilante, the Runaway.

Anyone considering playing Gotham Knightsshould check out the series as each issue will feature a code for a special item in the game. Collecting all 6 issues with each code will give fans an additional item. Batman: Gotham Knights – Golden City should be released the same day as the game.

seven Titans United: Bloodpact (September 2022)

Following the series, United Titans, Titans United: Blood Pact, depicts the Titans returning for their final adventure. As it is inspired by the HBO Max show, titans, fans will want to explore this new title, especially as new characters from season four will appear in the comic.

Tim Drake finds himself out of uniform and out of time. He must find his fellow Titans and figure out what’s going on with the Fearsome Five. Additionally, there is another threat on the upside. united titans was a big hit and the next installment shows all the signs of achieving the same.

6 Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats (October 2022)

taking place after harley quinn season 3, Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats, features Harley and Ivy taking on new roles as members of the Bat-family and leader of the Legion of Doom, respectively. Harley and Ivy will face a new threat when someone from Ivy’s past comes back to haunt them.

Nightwing and the rest of the Bat-Family have been great additions to the series, and fans won’t want to miss any more Bat-Family content. Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats, will have 6 issues, starting in October.

5 Batman vs. Robin (September 2022)

Fans of the series Batman/Superman: the best in the world, will want to check batman versus robin because this series will resume after this series and the Shadow War an event. In this title, the evil Devil Nezha uses his influence to pit Batman and Robin against each other.

Legendary writer Mark Waid will write the series, while Mahmud Asrar will provide the illustrations. It’s not every day that fans witness a showdown of this magnitude. Batman is the world’s greatest detective and Damian was trained by the League of Assassins. This father-son duo is sure to deliver an unmissable brawl.

4 The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing (October 2022)

After the conclusion of Joker #15, The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing will feature the crown prince of crime who embarks on a crime spree across the country. Various forces are at work to stop him, but it’s unclear what the Joker’s next move will be. There is also a series of saves in which the Joker deals with Mirror Master. Whether friend or foe is waiting to be seen.

Matthew Rosenberg takes the helm as writer for this new series. Beginning in October, The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing will be added to DC’s ongoing series slate. Only time will tell what kind of wild capers the Joker will embark on away from Gotham.

3 The Riddler: Year One (October 2022)

The Batman wowed audiences with its darker, grittier take on the Riddler and overall left fans begging for more. Fans of Matt Reeves’ hit movie won’t want to miss The Riddler: Year One, a direct-to-movie prequel comic.

The Riddler: Year One, will chronicle the events that led Edward Nashton to leave behind his life as a forensic accountant and become a man feared by all of Gotham City. How the Riddler uncovered Gotham’s darkest secrets and other intriguing questions will be answered in October.

2 Gotham City: Year One (October 2022)

Gotham City: Year One is a new six-issue series written by Tom King, starting in October. Seeking to tell the definitive origin of Gotham City, Tom King sets out to answer the question of how a once-shiny city became home to criminals and miscreants and required Batman’s fists of justice.

Gotham City: Year One takes place two generations before Bruce Wayne dons the cowl. Even more intriguing, a private investigator is working to rescue the kidnapped heir to the Wayne family fortune. This insight into Gotham’s past is sure to make for interesting reading.

1 Tim Drake: Robin (September 2022)

Starting in September, Tim Drake finally gets his own Robin series again. Tim had a rough time when he got stuck between being Red Robin and or just being Robin. However, he seems to have figured things out and becomes Robin again.

This series will feature Tim facing off against an enemy that has been lurking in the shadows for a year. Tim must fight to protect his boyfriend and other loved ones from this mysterious threat, while finding a piece of Gotham he can call his own. Writer Meghan Fitzmartin surely has a lot in store for the world’s smartest Robin.
