16 Characters The DCEU Should Definitely Introduce

How have we not seen these characters yet?!

It’s been almost a decade since the DCEU’s inception, and there’s still a slew of great characters who haven’t appeared.

With such a vast and outstanding lineup of heroes and villains at the studio’s disposal, it’s surprising we haven’t seen many appear in the DC Cinematic Universe. But as that world continues to expand, hopefully we’ll see these 16 characters make an appearance in the DCEU.

vandal savage

Born 50,000 years ago, Vandal Savage gained immortality after exposure to a mysterious meteorite and secretly lived on as one of Earth’s greatest conquerors. Although similar to Wolverine or the Mandarin, Savage’s power also lies in his fearsome intellect, which has become even more remarkable after millennia of life. If Savage were to appear in the DCEU, he could be one of the greatest enemies the Justice League has ever faced.

We really haven’t seen many Superman villains appear on film, and it’s a shock Brainiac isn’t among those who did. Known as the “Collector of Worlds”, this famed alien scientist shrunk and stole the city of Kandor from Krypton in his continued pursuit of knowledge. Possessing an army of drones and a “level 12 intellect”, Brainiac really is DC’s version of Ultron, and if we ever get a second Steel man movie, let’s hope it makes its big screen debut.

Now that Darkseid has been officially introduced to the DCEU, we should now get to know his biological son, Orion. Traded to Highfather as part of a peace treaty, Orion grew up as a New Genesis warrior dedicated to fighting the forces of Apokolips. Although he struggles to control his father’s inherited rage, Orion is still a powerful agent of good, thanks to his combat skills and control over the Astro Force. He truly is Darkseid’s Vader’s Luke, and if anyone deserves to face the god of Apokolips, it’s Orion.

This legendary hero was already referenced in the DCEU series, Peacemaker, so hopefully we’ll see the Emerald Archer make its first cinematic appearance soon. And hopefully we’ll see him team up with Jurnee Smollett’s Black Canary and form the next fan-favorite couple.

While we just got a standout new Catwoman in Zoë Kravitz, it would still be interesting to meet the one Ben Affleck’s Batman met in his world. Since this Caped Crusader has already spent 20 years fighting crime, he and Catwoman might already have a long history together that would be fascinating to explore. If Affleck stays in the DCEU, of course.

The Red Riding Hood

Robin’s death in the DCEU seemed like the filmmakers were setting up a live-action adaptation of “Under the Red Hood.” But right now, the Robin we know is dead isn’t Jason Todd, but Dick Grayson. However, since we never heard of this in the movies, the filmmakers could always go back to this and have Todd be the one who bit the dust, only to be brought back to fight Batman as Red Hood.

If Jason Todd is reinstated as the DCEU’s Dead Robin, we might also see Dick Grayson appear as Nightwing. Although we’ve seen Brenton Thwaites portray the character in Titans, Dick Grayson still lacked proper representation in film, both as Robin and Nightwing. But even if Grayson still doesn’t appear in the DCEU, we should at least see someone else take over as Robin and fight alongside Batman in Gotham City.

star fire

Although the Teen Titans have already been adapted into several shows, Starfire is a well-rounded character with a captivating and cosmic backstory that deserves her own movie. All in all, this Princess Tamaran would make a great addition to the DCEU, both as a member of the Justice League and a possible sidekick for Nightwing.

Since Hawkman is about to appear in Dwayne Johnson black adam, the door is open for another Thanagarian warrior to join the DCEU. Thanks to Hawkgirl’s popularity in the classic Justice League cartoon, fans would be thrilled to see this character introduced to the DCEU as a member of the Justice League.

Mister Miracle

Born to Highfather on the planet New Genesis, Scott Free was traded with Darkseid’s son Orion to end the war between their worlds. After years of living in the hell of Apokolips, Scott escaped to Earth and became the escape master, Mister Miracle. It would have been exciting to see him make his big screen debut in Ava DuVernay’s Cancellation new gods movie, but hopefully we’ll see him appear in another project soon.

Great Barda

If we see Mister Miracle appear in the DCEU, let’s not see him without Big Barda. Originally the leader of Darkseid’s Female Furies, Barda fled Apokolips after encountering Mister Miracle. The two fell in love and have since become one of DC’s greatest power couples. Despite this, Barda is still a well-rounded character, and her quest for redemption makes her one of DC Comics’ most compelling characters.

Born with the ability to use magic, Zatanna uses her powers to work as a stage magician while protecting the world from evil. For years, fans have been eager to see her appear in the DCEU, and they might finally get their wish. Zatanna is currently developing her own film with Promising young woman director/screenwriter Emerald Fennell writing the screenplay.

Reverse Flash/Zoom

Fans were hoping Barry Allen would take on his greatest enemy in the next Flash movie, but so far it doesn’t seem like Reverse-Flash has been confirmed. Hailing from the 25th century, Eobard Thawne is a speedster obsessed with replacing Barry as the Flash, going back in time and ruining his life any way he can. Pretty much Barry’s version of Joker or the Green Goblin, Thawne appearing in a movie would make for an exciting and heartbreaking story as we see him trying to destroy Flash’s life at every turn.

poison ivy

Warner Bros. / Through YouTube

After Poison Ivy’s appearance in the disastrous batman and robin, audiences have yet to see Warner Bros. do the character justice on the big screen. But if the studio decides to include the character in its cinematic universe, she doesn’t have to appear as a villain. Instead, Ivy is set to join Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in her next film, as fans would love to see this iconic couple team up and Harley meet her one true love.

John Constantine

Warner Bros. / Through YouTube

This hard-drinking, chain-smoking wizard has been a fan-favorite hero for years, making him the perfect character to introduce moviegoers to the world of DC’s dark arts. Since Matt Ryan has repeatedly portrayed Constantine in live-action and voiced him in animation, DC already has a perfect candidate to play the Hellblazer on the big screen.

The Green Lantern

Warner Bros. / Through YouTube

How come we don’t have a Green Lantern movie in the DCEU? We have already seen lanterns appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and we almost got to see Wayne T. Carr play John Stewart at the end (although we now have a shot of what could have been). A Green Lantern Corps movie has long been in development hell, but hopefully we’ll see Carr really shine as the Emerald Knight.
