Crowe, Bennett and Hall win Green Eyeshade Awards
Price is based on:
Outstanding visual feedback on news or issues. Emphasis will be placed on the originality and effectiveness of the message.
I discovered this weekend our AL.com team has won a few Green Eyeshade Journalism Awards. Somehow I won first place for a dark and dreary collection of editorial cartoons called “Drawing Tough Love in a Red State”.
We do this work because… well, that’s just what we do, damn it. But it’s cool to earn stuff along the way. Proud to be part of this talented team of journalists. Thank you for your inspiring comments and your support of our work. And thank you for supporting me. Well done, all of you.
JD Crowe notes:
I was delighted to be in the distinguished company of my fellow designers Bennett clay and Ed Room who took second and third. These guys are both real winners. It’s a win for me just to be in their orbit.
Got a note this morning from my homie Bennett clay that I landed a third place at this year’s Green Eyeshade Awards, for a cartoon portfolio released in 2021. Clay won second place, and our friend JD Crowe won first place. Needless to say, this is an exceptional company for me, so I was thrilled to hear the news. The Green Eyeshades are America’s longest running regional journalism competition, and I won it in 2002.
Congratulations to all of our Southern Comforters!
The full list will eventually appear at The Green Eyeshade website.
