Zaijan JaranillaThe “Darna” character was juxtaposed with another fictional character from a series of Filipino graphic novels.
Some viewers compared Zaijan’s character named Custodian Ding at Janus Silanga character from a graphic novel by his namesake, following an episode where the former was playing video games at a computer store.
In the episode, which aired August 17, Ding seemed enthralled with a video game he was playing with other gamers.
The camera focused on Ding’s eyes and moved to the game he was playing.
The music video of this moment could be viewed on ABS-CBN Entertainment channels.
Some viewers of ABS-CBN’s “Darna” thought of Janus Silang, the main character of the graphic novel series created by the award-winning author Edgar Calabia Samarbecause of this scene.
In Samar’s story, Janus was also an avid gamer of a fictional game called “TALA Online”. Her magical adventures in novels began with gambling.
“OMG yung scene naglalaro ng PC game if Ding reminds me of Janus playing Tala HAHAHAHAHAHAH if only mas bata lang if Zaijan he would have been a great Janus Silang,” one user said.
One user even shared stills from the episode that reminded him of the other fictional character.

Samar quickly saw these messages. He uploaded a screenshot of one of them to his Facebook page.
The author also joined in the antics of his readers who compared the character he created with that of the superhero series.
“Anong level na kaya?” said Calabia.
In the comments section, some of her readers hoped that her novels would soon be adapted into a TV show.
“Janus Silang series please,” said a Facebook user with a crying emoji.
“I hope maisakatuparan din ang Janus Silang as a TV series, alam ko may plano na ito dati,” said another Facebook user.
His fans have been calling for an adaptation of his acclaimed work for years.
In 2018, ABS-CBN managed to acquire the television rights to these, increasing the hype for a “Janus Silang” television project.
At the time of writing, there are no updates on the network’s plans to adapt Samar’s young adult series to television.
