DOT partners with Scarlet Snow Belo and Cartoon Network to make travel safe


Manila, Philippines – The Department of Tourism (DOT) and WarnerMedia’s Cartoon Network continue their partnership to encourage everyone to start traveling safely across the country as travel restrictions are eased.

The SAFETRIP campaign video features Scarlet Snow Belo asking the Powerpuff Girls for help in finding a safe way to explore the Philippines now that leisure travel is allowed.

The trio of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup highlighted the need to follow SAFETRIP, which stands for Sanitize, Avoid Mass Gatherings, Wear Face Masks, Use Electronic Payments, Always Check Your Temperature, Follow Rules and Regulations, Stay Up to Date on the latest information, and respect physical distance.

“As more and more destinations reopen for local travellers, it is our duty to remind everyone to travel with their health and safety as a top priority,” said Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat.

“As quarantine restrictions have eased, point-to-point travel from NCR Plus to other MGCQ areas for recreation is now permitted without age restrictions, subject to a negative RT-PCR test result. This DOT’s campaign with Cartoon Network, starring Scarlet Belo, aims to educate our travelers on what they need to do to keep themselves and other travelers safe while embarking on new, more fun adventures,” it said. she adds.

On a recent trip to Bohol province, Puyat took Scarlet, along with her parents, Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho, to the various destinations in the province which are not only beautiful but also safe and child friendly. , such as the Chocolate Hills and the Philippine Tarsier Foundation Sanctuary. These are places that help to instil pride in belonging and environmental awareness in children and adults.

They also visited the Dalareich Chocolate House, an award-winning chocolate maker from bean to bar, and cruised the Loboc River and were lulled by the famous Loboc Children’s Choir Loboc River Resort.

“Our recent trip to Bohol is our way of showing that we can all travel safely again. I’m so glad Scarlet had so much fun discovering our wonderful sights. I hope others can travel to our reopened destinations safely this year. But let me stress the need to follow the minimum health and safety protocol and travel requirements of the destinations you will be visiting,” Puyat said.
