It has been years since Fire force made its debut, and the hit series sold for millions of dollars while also spawning an extremely popular anime. Creator Atsushi Ohkubo couldn’t have done better when writing the series, but it all has to end at some point. This goes even for the most popular manga titles, and now the creator of Fire force says he hopes to end the series as soon as possible.
The update comes from Twitter as fan sites like MangaMoguraRE shared the news from Japan. Ultimately, Ohkubo confirmed that they will end their work on Fire force in “a few chapters” if everything works out. The artist says he has two more chapters to draw, then his part on the manga will be over.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Fire force will be completed in a few chapters. Ohkubo will have finished drawing the manga after two chapters, but the manga may have more chapters stored to publish. If that is the case, Fire force could last a few more months, but only if Fire force has saved chapters. Otherwise, Ohkubo’s manga will end well before spring arrives.
As you can imagine, fans of the manga are sad to hear it disappear, but Fire Force has lived a great life on paper. Kodansha started releasing the series in September 2015 after Ohkubo finished working on Soul eater. With more than 16 million copies in circulation, Fire force is a hit with shonen readers, and anime fans have since fallen in love with her show. Fire Force has launched two seasons of its hit anime, and fans are hoping that a third season will be ordered before much longer.
