Hulu adds ‘Adult Swim’ label to regular shows and cartoons

Hulu is one of the most popular and cheapest video streaming services available today. With plans starting at $6.99, it has shaken up the market with its original shows like The Handmaid’s Tale.

As of the fourth quarter of 2021, the Walt Disney-owned company had more than 43 million paying subscribers. That said, Hulu is the first service in the world to add Plus to its name.

Besides allowing users to watch original and partner content, the platform also offers an over-the-top IPTV service allowing users to watch normal TV channels. In March of this year, Comcast pulled all of its content from Hulu to Peacock to boost the latter’s viewership.

But as is the case with all online services, users have faced various issues such as audio not working on iPad after iPadOS 15.4 update and old DVR recordings filling up storage as they do not could not be deleted.

In addition to the long list of issues, Hulu users are now saying they see the Adult Swim tag on regular shows and cartoons. Many don’t know why the platform brands shows and cartoons under the Adult Swim banner (1,2,3,4,5).

A group of users tried restarting the Hulu app and reinstalling it to see if it was a problem on their end, but quickly discovered that they weren’t alone. Below are some reports from Hulu subscribers who have noticed that many cartoons and shows are now under the Adult Swim label.

Funny mistake I caught on Hulu today. A number of #CartoonNetwork shows apparently have the Adult Swim screenbug.

Can anyone tell me WHY Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends is under [adult swim] on Hulu? When did it happen?

Support Hulu was quick to comment on the issue where certain shows are under the Adult Swim label and said they are currently investigating the issue. As always, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

Hi there! We have received similar reports about this, and our team is currently investigating. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

We hope the developers will find the cause of the problem in the first place and fix it at the earliest. Until then, we’ll be keeping an eye out for further developments and updating this article as we find more information, so be sure to keep checking this space.
