Lance Reddick from Resident Evil on the iconic character he would like to see appear

by Netflix resident Evil is almost here, and Albert Wesker actor Lance Reddick is interested in seeing a particular, and perhaps unexpected, franchise character make a return in a future season. by Netflix resident Evil isn’t canon for games, but it follows the timeline of the mainline titles, especially Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, and 5, although there are nods to some of the other titles in the franchise. It’s sort of a sequel to some of those games and directly addresses the events that occur within them and how they affect not only the world at large, but Albert Wesker’s family life as well. It’s a pretty unique take on the series and definitely has the potential to grow with more seasons.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, we asked Lance Reddick if he’d like to see iconic Resident Evil characters like Chris Redfield or Leon Kennedy in a future season. The actor noted that he was more familiar with the Paul WS Anderson films than the games and said he had some interest in seeing Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice, appear on the Netflix show. Since the games, movies, and show all take place in their own unique universes, this can be tricky to pull off, but it’s an interesting idea nonetheless.

“Wow. It’s so hard because I haven’t played the games, although I’ve watched most of the movies,” Reddick said. “There was one summer where I had a few weeks where, don’t ask me why, but I was too late until 4 a.m. to watch the movies. But honestly, the movies are so full of action that Milla Jovovich’s character is the only one I really remember, and I think it would be really interesting to see if and how her character could fit into this series.

At the moment, Netflix has not yet given the green light to a second season of resident Evil, so there’s no guarantee we’ll see Alice or any other familiar characters just yet. In both cases, resident Evil gets decent reviews so far. ComicBook gave the series a 3.5/5 and noted that the series has strong potential if Netflix decides to do more: “Even when it misses, Netflix resident Evil is one of the best adaptations of Resident Evil and deserves to be pushed further.”
