A Pokemon fan shares a video that shows off some of the gym badges players earn in the various Pokemon games.
the Pokemon video games provide players with many challenges to complete while becoming Pokemon trainers, with the easiest challenge being to face off against the leaders of the Gyms in each region. Each region of Pokemon The franchise has Gym Leaders who specialize in all sorts of different Pokemon that players must defeat to earn their Gym Badges.
With so many gym leaders in the Pokemon franchise, each of them has their own unique gym badge that players can earn and collect. Recently an online fan made a short animation that displays the different gym badges of several Pokemon video games. Reddit user CasualThought recently posted an article showcasing the gym badges players earn across multiple regions in major video games.
The animation itself contains the Kanto region gym badges to the Sinnoh region gym badges. The video itself isn’t that long, but it shows every gym badge in the first four regions in detail. The video does not show specific details of the origin of each gym badge, such as their respective region or the gym leaders they come from. However, Pokemon fans will be able to spot some of their favorite gym badges that were recreated in the video.
The video features the Gym Badges arranged in order from the first to the eighth Gym, as it rotates the Gym Badges counter-clockwise. Each gym badge shown is recreated in excellent detail to resemble their appearance in the original video games they debuted in. Animation has no gym badges of all Pokemon games and it lacks the gym badges of the Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar regions. The new region of pokemon scarlet and Pokémon Violet games are not included in fan animation.
General reception to the animation was positive, with many commenters liking the video and discussing their favorite gym badges that are displayed. The creator of the CasualThought animation responded to the suggestion to recreate the Pokemon gym badges for the rest of the game regions. They said it would be nice to do this, but they thought doing the badges for the first four regions would be the right amount. Also, recreating 32 gym badges was already a lot to do, and they barely fit on screen the way they wanted. While it’s common to see fan work based on the various Pokémon and characters in the series, it’s a change of pace to see fans working for gym badges in the game. Pokemon Games.
