See you! Massive transformation of Disneyland Resort lands moving forward


That’s all the systems that work in Disney parks around the world.

Several resorts are currently undergoing massive construction projects with new attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coming to Walt Disney World Resort and Arendelle: World of Frozen towards Disneyland Paris. At Disneyland Resort, one of the park’s most iconic lands is currently closed with a massive retheming project planned.

And the Cast Members have just started.

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Southern California is close to the hearts of many Disney fans. Walt Disney’s first theme park, The Happiest Place On Earth, sees Disney magic shared with guests every day of the year. From classic Disney attractions at Disneyland Park to Marvel superheroes at Disney California Adventure Park’s Avengers Campus, Disneyland Resort is a hive of joy.

Disneyland Park offers visitors all of the classic Disney attractions and lands. Spread across locations such as Main Street, USA, Frontierland, Critter Country, star warsLike Galaxy’s Edge and Fantasyland, Disneyland offers plenty of rides and experiences for guests to participate in on their Disney vacation.

One ground, however, will remain closed for the remainder of 2022, with an opening scheduled for next year. Mickey’s Toontown closed a few weeks ago and the cartoon-themed area is undergoing a major renovation project.

The Disney Parks Blog revealed:

As we previously shared, Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park is undergoing a reimagining and will debut with new experiences and more games for guests, with a focus on families and young children, at the beginning of 2023.

Today, we share a photo of our teams innovating on the ground, coming together to celebrate this milestone and the work underway to bring this transformation to life.

Known for attractions such as Donald’s Boat, Goofy’s Playhouse and Gadget’s Go Coaster, Mickey’s Toontown opened in 1993, inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988), the reinvention will see the replacement of these experiences as well as the unveiling of new areas like CentoOnial Park.

There are plenty of changes and updates coming to the Disneyland Resort in the months and years to come, not to mention annual maintenance and ride closures such as Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square. Tomorrowland will see the star wars: The Hyperspace Mountain overlay is coming to Space Mountain, while Tarzan’s Treehouse in Adventureland is set for a major retheme.

From a Disney Hotel perspective, after rumors Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be transformed into a Pixar-themed experience, including a dedicated entrance to Disney California Adventure Park for guests staying at the property. Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will continue to welcome guests, with a major perk coming back to resorts as well. theme park purchases at their resort hotel.

The upcoming changes to Disney Californian Park come in the wake of Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock saying that Mouse House is looking to “rapidly” infuse intellectual properties (IP) into Disneyland Park and Disney Californian Adventure. The parks will also see an “upgraded” version of the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction currently found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort.
