Sorta’s Notorious 1987 Sequel Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night Is Pure Nightmare Fuel – Nathan Rabin’s Happy Place

Even with a running time that barely exceeds eighty minutes, it’s a test of endurance. It’s certainly not the worst or scariest version of Pinochio, a story about the inexorable horrors of life and the dark melting pot of pain and humiliation that is adolescence, but it’s still damn bad and scary.

That’s what makes it irresistibly captivating if ultimately overwhelmingly tedious.
